Last month we asked our readers to tell us
what their favorite thing about K-Drama was. Thank you to everyone who
responded! Below are a few of the responses, enjoy!
"My favorite thing about K-Drama is the
scenery. Korea is such a beautiful country and each drama depicts every
aspect of the country." ~Lee
"The best thing about K-Dramas is that you
can sympathize with the characters and it just breaks you down in tears."
~Ru
"My favorite thing about K-drama is that
everything is so full of life. From the actors who breathe life into their
characters to the stories that are so brilliantly told... what's not to
love?" ~Ashlee
"My favorite thing about K-Dramas is... the
drama! It's the drama that makes me want to watch them!" ~Mike
Congratulations to Ashlee, her response was randomly
chosen to win a free DVD of Super Rookie!
DVD Review: Super Rookie Let me say from the outset that I liked this series. I found the characters engaging and the basic story line about corporate office politics, amusing, often very much so. But I do intend to be critical, for the show lends itself to analysis that I feel is instructive about both drama and comedy and especially the attempt to meld both in the same entity. Like many Korean dramas and comedies as well, it often takes a couple-three episodes to catch the drift and the rhythms. Just as for American TV shows, the first couple of episodes might not be representative of the rest of the season because the producers also have the objective of bringing in an audience. Frequently, the net is widely cast as various aspects of the humor or the dramatic bits are intensified in comparison to the rest of the story. This is very much what happens in Super Rookie.
