Description: YA Entertainment wants to know what impact Korean dramas have had on your life. The writer of the best essay on this topic will receive five (5) box sets of YA Entertainment's exclusive US-licensed Korean dramas with high-quality English subtitles, selected by the winner from YA Entertainment's catalogue (subject to availability). In addition, the entry will be posted on our website and maybe also included in YA Entertainment's 2007-8 Catalogue of Titles booklet!
Eligibility: The "What Impact Have Korean Dramas Had on Your Life?" Writing Contest is open to residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of YA Entertainment or any of its affiliated companies, and members of their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.
General Guidelines: Entries must consist of an essay discussing the impact that Korean dramas have had on the author's life and must include the entrant's full name, phone number, mailing address, and e-mail address. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Entries must be in English and may not exceed 1200 words. Format must be text in an e-mail or a document in Microsoft Word. The entrant's name must be included at the beginning or end of the essay itself. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
Submission of Entries: Entries must be received by 5:00 pm Pacific time on Friday, September 21, 2007, and must be submitted by e-mail to ye-contest@yaentertainment.com. YA Entertainment is not responsible for misdirected entries, inability to submit entries or any delays in receipt of entries resulting from issues with e-mail systems or the internet. Entries will not be acknowledged.
Originality: All entries must be the original work of the person submitting the entry. By submitting an entry, you represent that the entry is your original work in its entirety, and that you have all rights to necessary to grant YA Entertainment permission to use and publish the entry.
Judging and Notification: Entries will be judged on originality, creative expression, understanding of the Korean drama genre, and depth of meaning/impact. The winning entry will be chosen by a panel of YA Entertainment employees. The winner will be notified by e-mail, using the e-mail address provided with the winning entry, on or before Friday, October 5, 2007. The winner must respond to such e-mail by 5:00 pm Pacific time on Friday, October 12, 2007, providing the titles of the five (5) DVD box sets that the winner selects from YA Entertainment's catalogue (available at www.yaentertainment.com), together with three (3) alternate choices to apply in the event of unavailability. If no response is received by such date, YA Entertainment reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant. YA Entertainment is not responsible for misdirected responses, inability to respond, any delays in receipt of responses resulting from issues with e-mail systems or the internet, or loss or damage in shipping of the DVD box sets.
Prize: The winner will receive five (5) DVD box sets of his/her choosing from YA Entertainment's catalogue (available at www.yaentertainment.com), subject to availability. Only five (5) box sets will be awarded, regardless of the number of productions selected by the winner. Since some productions consist of multiple box sets, the winner will need to select his/her desired productions accordingly such that these productions consist of a total of five box sets. The total approximate retail value of the prize is $300 to $600 depending on the box sets selected by and delivered to the winner by YA Entertainment. The DVD box sets will be sent to the mailing address included in the winner's entry. YA Entertainment will not be responsible in the event of unavailability of any of the DVD box sets selected by the winner, other than to substitute another box set requested by the winner. Other than substitution of titles in the event of unavailability, there will be no substitution of prizes, and no option to receive cash value in lieu of the prize. The prize is not transferable.
Publication: YA Entertainment may at its option publish the winning entry on its website at www.yaentertainment.com, in its 2007-2008 Catalogue of Titles booklet, or on any other website or printed material. The winner will be required to sign an agreement providing all publication rights for the entry to YA Entertainment as a condition of receiving the prize.
Agreement, Consent; Rights Associated with Entries: All entries become the sole property of YA Entertainment. By submitting an entry, the entrant (a) agrees to the rules and that the decisions of YA Entertainment shall be final in all respects; and (b) consents to the use of his/her name and likeness and any statements, quotes or testimonials provided by him/her for advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Participants warrant that their entry is their original work and that YA Entertainment's use of the entry will not infringe upon or violate rights of any third party, and grant YA Entertainment the right to edit, publish, promote, and otherwise use their entry materials without permission, notice or compensation. No royalties will be paid at any time.

Governing Law: The promotion and the rights and obligations of YA Entertainment and participants will be governed and controlled by the laws of the State of California, applicable to contracts made and preformed therein without reference to the applicable choice of law provisions. All actions, proceedings, and litigation relating hereto will be instituted and prosecuted solely within the State of California, San Mateo County. The parties consent to the jurisdiction of the state courts of California and federal court located having jurisdiction over San Mateo County with respect to any action, dispute, or other matter pertaining to or arising out of this contest.
